Beautiful art is something framable. That you can hang it on a wall and understand immediately. It's very pleasing. Sublime art however, makes you feel makes you feel there is something outside of what you're seeing that potentially has more importance and power that you can even imagine at that moment. It's upsetting and even scary to know that you're only being shown a small fraction of something larger. That you're being denied. But, also it's a different type of beauty that helps you understand you own failings, your own inability as a person to understand the fullness of what is going on. To me that relates so much more to actual life than simply a piece of beautiful art. To know there is so much more you can't see and the way that knowledge can frustrate, excite, confuse and scare you all at the same time.
