Distilling Ideas Into Solutions
Session attendance was a major platform challenge. Users frequently canceled last-minute or no-showed for scheduled meetings, negatively impacting user progression and company perception. After analyzing user interviews and session logs, I discovered that users often couldn't access a computer when needing to modify their session. Though Formation was web-focused, we developed a mobile solution alongside web to improve user engagement. The result: better tracking, clearer communication, and improved company sentiment.
One project that is always growing and evolving is the design system. I drove multiple updates to Formation's scrappy design system. Some updates include updating our system typography from Avenir to IBM Plex Sans for more accessible reading and removing the annual fee we were paying to use Avenir. I updated our system colors to be calibrated for accessibility, as well as creating the first true dark mode for the platform. I also created numerous components and templates to streamline workflow and make the overall product experience more consistent.
